Christmas Open House at Sprague Mansion and Joy Homestead on Tuesday, December 4th, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

"Holiday Open Houses at Governor Sprague Mansion (1351 Cranston St) and Colonial Joy Homestead (156 Scituate Ave). Enjoy holiday music, cookies and wassail and holiday spirit by visiting our museums. The Cranston Historical Society has graciously opened both museums to the public at no charge for several decades. It is our way to share some kindred hospitality and welcome our visitors. Andrew Kaplan, Rhode Island pianist, will perform musical selections on Cranston Historical Society’s rare 1800s Concerta D Grand Steinway for your enjoyment. Members from the Pawtuxet Rangers will make a special visitation to the Sprague Mansion. The Western Cranston Garden Club decorates the Mansion in a spirited Victorian-theme each year. Colonial-dressed hosts will greet visitors at the Joy Homestead -- enjoy colonial cheer and the warmth of the Job Joy’s fireplaced home. Commodore Whipple and Major Pitcairn of his Majesty’s Marines will visit the Homestead this year."
